a non- profit organization that aims to protect and promote the island’s
rich heritage. We were established on October 4 1993 as the result of a
merger between the St. Maarten National Park Foundation and the
St Maarten Museum Foundation.

Reference library
Also available to visitors is our extensive reference library. The library can be used for personal or educational purposes. So make use of this opportunity. If you’re curious about something and want to learn more about it or need information for a school project.
Research has to be done on the spot. None of our literature, photographs and articles may leave the museum! Some copies can be made at your request.
We are always busy with expanding our library and appreciate it if you have.
Video library
Visitors can ask to watch rare videos and DVDs about the island’s heritage. Popular requests are Hurricane Luis video and rare images of St. Maarten in the 1950’s and nature films.
